To Unify the Massage Therapy Profession While Creating, Representing, and Promoting Standards of Excellence in Health Care validates the FSMTA’s promise to serve and protect the massage therapist in Florida.

Welcome to the FSMTA Keys Chapter

The Keys Chapter is small but mighty! While in the past we have not had regular meetings, we are working on changing that with a meeting planned in Big Pine June 7th and a meeting each month starting in late July. Like us on Facebook FSMTA Keys Chapter to keep updated on our happenings around the Keys, this is where most recent news is posted. You can also sign up to receive email updates with our Mailchimp service or send a request to keysfsmta@gmail.com to be added to our email list for notices of our next event.

We are currently building a listserv as an alternative to the Mailchimp marketing type emails. This will allow us to share news with each other as well as simply sending out to a list. The list will be moderated to prevent unwanted spam and advertising and will allow us to communicate with each other easily. You must subscribe to the email list at: https://www.freelists.org/list/keyslmts. You can also send an email with ‘subscribe’ (no quotes) in the subject to: keyslmts-request@freelists.org

Since the majority of our members have always been in the Middle to Lower Keys and Key West, it has been difficult to serve the members in the Upper Keys. If you are above Islamorada you might contact the Dade Chapter (see the link to their page on the right) and see if you might be better served by attending meetings there. They have a much larger chapter and have regular meetings with presenters and CEs. However, we are hoping to begin having meetings in Islamorada at least twice a year.

Volunteer at this year’s Dagger Dive Event:

The Task Force Dagger Foundation provides assistance to wounded, ill, or injured US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) members and their families. We respond to urgent needs, conduct Recreational Therapy Adaptive Events, and provide next-generation health solutions for issues facing our service members. We are a rally point to combat Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), and environmental exposures. Our cohesive programs enable families to seize the moment and live life.”

This year the Dagger Dive event is June 10-17. Mary Ann Nelson is coordinating massage therapy volunteers for the participants. Please contact her by text or call: 305-509-0672.

Past Meetings and Events

Well for those of you that tried to attend the Annual Party at My New Joint, upstairs at the Square Grouper, we are soooo sorry it got messed up. An accident on US 1 closed the highway with half of us on one side and half on the the other. We had a small meeting on Monday, March 20th in Key West and the annual brunch meeting in Marathon on Saturday, April 1, after we closed the massage booth for the 7 Mile Bridge run.
